If it is not what you want, then adjust the gold control knob until the desired setting is attained, (clockwise increases humidity, counterclockwise decreases humidity). Note: Make adjustments only in small increments at a time and allow at least an hour for the hygrometer to come to its true reading. CIGAR OASIS II responds instantly to even very small changes in humidity, while most hygrometers, even the digital units, respond very slowly. You should not have to change the setting again. The Cigar Oasis Magna 3.0 is an electronic cigar humidifier which accurately controls the humidity for large armoires and display cases. It is a self-contained unit with the electronics in the upper section and the distilled water reservoir in the lower section ready to operate once you fill with distilled water and plug it into an outlet. The Cigar Oasis Magna 3.0 takes all the worry and fuss out of storing and maintaining your precious stogies. The Magna 3.0 is fully electronic and once setup only requires occasional refilling (with distilled water) It comes factory set to 70% RH but can be set to exact preference. Anywhere from 40-80% (for humidor seasoning and cigar restoration purposes) The sensor is constantly active and blowing out only pure humidity as needed and then turns off once the set point is reached. The large LCD displays both humidity and temperature in the humidor and also displays the current set point. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Easy set up. Up and running in less than 10 minutes. Had to wait for humidity beads to swell up from distilled water, which was gradually introduced to the beads. The performance since has been rock solid. Constantly kept my cabinet humidor between 69-71 RH range. It has been about a month since the purchase, and I am happy with the purchase. A nice investment to protect my investments. I also added additional humidity beads to help with RH and installed two additional fans to help circulate the air in the humidor (i did not buy the Cigar Oasis auxiliary fan, instead purchased cooling fan from Amazon and plugged it to wifi switch and set a scheduled run). Only one gripe i have it the temperature setting. I used six different hygrometers which measure both temp and RH to compare, and on average, Cigar Oasis unit read 3F higher. Overall, this is a great unit. More than likely you will need to supplement the humidity with additional beads, but the automated system definitely frees up my time where I do not have to nurse the humidity in my humidor all the time.I recently converted a China hutch into a humidor and stuck the magna in there. Set up was easy and in a days time I added my smokes. The Oasis regulates the humidity exceptionally well across the whole hutch. I have 3 mieo hydrometers in there as well to monitor what's going on. Only small complaint I have is that it could be a little too fine tuned. It reads humidity right down to the decimal point. As soon as it drops below the set number it kicks on. Mine was kicking on and off every 5-10 seconds. Now it seems to be getting a bit more regulated as my cigars and wood soak up moisture and stabalize. Not a big deal as this unit is very quiet but about the only knock I have against it.

Aleksandar B. 1.0 out of 5 stars Still on the fence about getting 2 more. I bought it for piece of mind instead of going to the basement for the physical check. May update later. Also didn’t get an alert when it ran out of water. Emailed support and response was quick but I still just ended up resettingTurns off on it’s own when you go in the humidor. I like that you can set it. But frustrating with the cheap cord. Wish I could get one without that problem.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Thought I was getting a 2.0 replacement but got a 3.0 instead. Different unit - hard power plug accounting for the extended length, which means I had to reorganize my humidor. Not a big deal, but concerning for future cigar purchases. The new unit is much better, led's and better humidity sensing. Happy with the purchase but size does matter. Be aware of the length difference between the 2.0 and the 3.0 when you're replacing a dead or dying 2.0 unit. Same cartridges, however, and that;s a good thing.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again No modification required. This unit works phenomenally and is very simple to install. My 100 cigar humidor was always struggling to maintain the humidity. Now, I just check the sponge weekly and enjoy the perfectly conditioned cigars. The flat wire fits in the humidor seal without modification. Just requires a little care when closing.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Doing it through the side of the humidor, it comes in a way. The robber cable is also too tick and makes a gape betwen the cover and the bottom. Absolutely careless design. Garbage !Sorry, we failed to record your vote.

Please try again I had kept my eye on this product fro some time, but the price made me nervous. I splurged on this with some gift cards reasoning that if it didn't work that I wouldn't be out much. I have had going for 2 months and it is great. I have not used the wifi capability (that just seems like overkill) and it is a little bulky but when you get is set up and get it running, it is a beaut. I believe it will end up paying for itself in the long run as I have had to throw out cigars that have dried out in the past.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Works great. Very pleased and would not hesitate to purchase again or recommend. Update: Came across the new models of the oasis and had to let buyers know that after 4 years, my original model is still going strong. I've added quite a few more cigars and this thing has no problem keeping them all at 68-70% humidity.even through the dry wisconsin winters. When this unit finally does give up, I'll order another without hesitation. And my previous issue with it quickly kicking on and off cleared itself up within the first week or so after the humidor and cigars regulated and held their humidity. That aside, I have a Remington cabinet humidor which has separate refrigeration and heating systems to control temperature. I've disliked the original open air water bath (even with beads) humidifier for some time. It recently failed and I decided to make the leap. Items to note: 1. When they say put the vents to the back, they mean it. Since my humidor has a ledge in back for the refrigeration system, I put it on the first shelf with the sensor above the top shelf. 2. Use the beads. Open water is a source for molding. Also, it also can cause rebounding due to the higher rate of moisture being put into the cabinet. Gradual addition of moisture is a good thing. 3. The major patience part involves three things going on: heating, cooling, humidifying. You don't want these functions chasing each other around. Humidification causes cooling due to evaporation. So the heater comes on. Heating causes the humidity to go down. So the humidifier goes on. This will happen for the first couple days while your cabinet stabilizes. As I had to relocate drawers and install the system, the drawers will dry out, hence will reabsorb moisture fairly quickly. A new cabinet humidor can take a week, less with drawer wiping. 4. Use a calibrated digital hygrometer to get a true read of humidity. Calibrate using the salt method and you're good to go. My unit read 3-4% high. It's easy to adjust.

When done, put the hygrometer in a different location and don't fret about the small difference. It's fine. 5. No sense buying a small packet of replacement beads every year. Squirting some expansion foam in the hole or using duct tape to seal works fine. 7. Additional fans are not needed for my cabinet but may be worth it for the large stuff. Just remember you actually need some unrestricted space to mount them. The also only run when the unit is running. If you want general circulation all the time, I'd recommend either 12 or 120 volt quiet muffin fans. 8. WiFi is poorly implemented. CA uses an App that must be run on a separate server. That's just plain old school. When the WiFi feature was incorporated, some memory could have been added for 13 cents. Then the App could easily work direct to the humidor and not require an intermediate server. Other than that, if you're going to be gone a few weeks, refill the water and you don't have to worry. There isn't an Echo Skill for this. Another way you could ditch the separate server. If I could have given them zero I would; I received by far the worst customer experience I have ever had on Amazon UK, and very close to the worst I've ever experienced full stop. To be helpful to other potential buyers, if you do order the Cigar Oasis Magna 2.0 from Humidor Station make sure they send you a picture of the exact product they will ship you (and make sure this is the 2.0 version). Despite sending several communications pre-order about this issue (Humidor Station insisted they will ship me, as advertised, the 2.0 version) - the first item I received was the original Magna, which is now two versions old (and nowhere near the performance of the 2.0). I had to prove this was the older version with written communication from Cigar Oasis themselves, and even then Humidor Station decided that they could not guarantee the replacement I would get would be the 2.0 (despite the fact they advertise it as such).

Then they would not dispatch the correct 2.0 version until I posted the wrong item back.cigars do not have an unlimited ability to live without correct humidity. Eventually, after some debate, they did send the new version sooner.which is just as well because I was left to negotiate with DHL using Humidor Station's account number and waybill on how to ship and when, arrange insurance, etc, wasting even more of my time. On to the product and there is not much which needs to be said about the Cigar Oasis Magna 2.0 other than it is a truly excellent humidification system. The fans in the 2.0 version are significantly, and I do mean significantly, more powerful than the original model. I have a very large cabinet (restored commercial scale humidor) and once up and running it took only 4 hours to get to exactly 70% across all six shelving compartments and it is remarkably stable. Don't be surprised when the wired red hygrometer is -7% out on initial set up though, a friend also has one of these and same there also. I tested the Wifi adapter a friend has over several days now - I gave it back. It's a nice innovation and idea but in a practical sense, not worth the additional cost in my opinion.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Sorry, we failed to record your vote. You have no obligation to purchase the product once you know the price. You can simply remove the item from your cart. When time's up, take it out and let it stand on the counter another minute. Then turn it over the sink and let any loose water drain out. Dry off the top of the cartridge and put it back together. There must be no loose water visible in the holes. Most often, this is a water issue. If there is any loose water in the cartridge, the water blocks the air flow and the unit thinks it's empty. It cannot draw the moisture from the cartridge and into your humidor. That would cause the low % and the unit to constantly run. If this is the case, please refill the cartridge according to the instructions here. An easy way to check that is to remove the top, hold it over your head, look underneath and blow on the underside of the control top to see if the clear plastic valves move. If they do not move then it is blocking the flow of moisture into the unit. Use light pressure to unstick the valve using a q-tip with rubbing alcohol and then use the q-tip to clean the plastic as well as the hole that it covers. These valves must open when the unit is running to draw moisture and when the unit is in sleep mode, they close to prevent passive evaporation into the humidor. If your humidor is new or hasn't been used for a while, it may need to be seasoned. If the wood is dry, the unit runs and the moisture is going into the wood. The humidity will drop until it's fully seasoned. If all of the above don't fit, then the only other reason this symptom happens is if there is a poor seal or leak somewhere in the humidor. A very easy leak test is to take your cigars out briefly and burn a piece of incense on a little dish and close the lid. You cannot see water vapor, however you can see smoke escape. If that's the case you need to address that problem before you can go any further. It cannot draw the moisture from the cartridge into your humidor.

That would cause the low humidity and the unit to constantly run. If this is the case, please refill the cartridge according to the instructions here. If you have recently filled the water cartridge, please remove the top and let it air dry for a few hours. After that, give it a helping hand using a blow dryer. Then leave it sit awhile again before you hook it up. Then, follow the refilling directions very and you should have no future trouble. What should I do? Try pulling it out and then putting it back in. If the connection is good and it is tight, please check the unit on AC Power. If this doesn't eliminate the problem, please contact our office for further assistance. Ordinarily, it will disappear after approximately 30 seconds. If you are using the unit on batteries are experiencing the code staying lit and not going off, that means the batteries are low. You many not have caught the LO indication to tell you to change the batteries. They are weak and the unit failed. Since the batteries were not totally dead, the unit tried to come back on, however didn't have enough strength. Replace the batteries and when you reconnect you will again see the code appear, however this time it should go out after 30 seconds or less. Which Is Better: A Digital Or Analog Hygrometer. With four models, and a complete redesign for 2014, choosing the right one can be a little confusing and overwhelming. The purpose of this guide is to educate you on the various models available, explain how they work, as well as answer frequently asked questions. There is a cartridge which holds water and humidifies the air inside the Cigar Oasis unit. By using a system of accurate sensors, when the humidity level in your humidor drops below your set point, a fan turns on and blows the humidified air into your humidor. The fan then turns itself off when your humidity level set point is reached.

Please go to Thank you - Neil (You can dismiss this I had the manual for my Transtig 275 on a memory stick. Despite many sessions of 'Shed Tetris', its whereabouts remain unknown. Specifically, I need the page with the different connections for different voltages. I need to change the input voltage from 415 to 440 volts so I can run it on the two phase in the new shed (460 volts.Any help is greatly appreciated.Have you tried emailing Cigweld. Try taking the covers off your machine to have a look. Many machines have the connection diagram printed internally on the covers or nearby. Naturally, you will have the machine unplugged when you do this. It's a pity that more manufacturers aren't like Lincoln who make their manuals easily accessible online.Although for a voltage question like this they might not be much help. Thanks anyway Grahame, but I don't think the Murex connections are much good, from memory the CIG unit has a different layout with various combinations of horizontal and vertical bridging bars for different input voltages. I'll have a look inside the panel (I didn't think of that TBH) failing that I'll contact CIG tomorrow. Many machines have the connection diagram printed internally on the covers or nearby. Thanks Karl, you are a genius. I think a bloke forgets how simple some things can be when many people and companies do their best to make everything over-complicated.Hope this helps CheersHope this helps Cheers I had to be on the full site to see the files. Note that the presence of VRD should not be used as a substitute for the use of appropriate safety practices as indicated in section one of this manual. At times of non-welding, the digital meter will display a pre-set (preview) value of Wirefeed Speed. To make connections, align keyway, insert plug, and rotate threaded collar fully clockwise. Negative Trigger Switch. Arc force control provides an adjustable amount of welding force (or “dig”) control. This feature can be particularly beneficial in providing the operator the ability to compensate for variability in joint fit-up in certain situations with particular electrodes. Digital Voltage Meter (Right Digital Display) MIG Mode This digital meter is used to display the pre-set (preview) Voltage in MIG mode and actual welding voltage of the power source when welding. At times of non-welding, the digital meter will display a pre-set (preview) value of Voltage. WARNING When the front digital displays are lit, the machine is connected to the Mains supply voltage and the internal electrical components are at Mains voltage potential. Fan as needed automatically switches the cooling fan off when it is not required. This has two main advantages; (1) to minimize power consumption, and (2) to minimise the amount of contaminants such as dust that are drawn into the power source. Remove the locking pin from the spool hub. Install the wire spool over the spool hub, locating the hole in the spool, with the alignment pin on the spool hub. Then to release the pressure roller arm push the tension screw toward the front of the machine which releases the pressure roller arm (Figure 4-8). These devices should be adjusted to a minimum pressure that will provide satisfactory WIREFEED without slippage. If slipping occurs, and inspection of the wire contact tip reveals no wear, distortion or burn back jam, the conduit liner should be checked for kinks and clogging by metal flakes and swarf.

For heavier sections and for repair work on castings, etc., it will be necessary to cut or grind an angle between the pieces being joined to ensure proper penetration of the weld metal and to produce sound joints. Use mild steel plate about 6.0mm thick and a 3.2mm electrode. Clean any paint, loose scale or grease off the plate and set it firmly on the work bench so that welding can be carried out in the downhand position. At the same time, the electrode has to move along the plate to form a bead. Refer to Figure 4-14. A piece of angle iron is a suitable specimen with which to begin, or two lengths of strip steel may be tacked together at right angles. Make yourself comfortable on a seat in front of the job and strike the arc in the corner of the fillet. Set up a specimen for overhead welding by first tacking a length of angle iron at right angles to another piece of angle iron or a length of waste pipe. Then tack this to the work bench or hold in a vice so that the specimen is positioned in the overhead position as shown in the sketch.

In many cases it is so small that it is barely perceptible, but in other cases allowance has to be made before welding commences for the distortion that will subsequently occur. Page 6 Page 7 TRANSMIG 200i SECTION 1: ARC WELDING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS.Side shields recommended. WARNING ARC RAYS can burn eyes and skin; NOISE can damage hearing. Arc rays from the welding process produce intense heat and strong ultraviolet rays that can burn eyes and skin. Noise from some processes can damage hearing. 1. Use a Welding Helmet or Welding Faceshield fitted with a proper shade of filter (see ANSI Z49.1 and AS 1674 listed in Safety Standards) to protect your face and eyes when welding or watching. 3. Page 9 TRANSMIG 200i 3. Remove all flammables within 35 ft (10.7 m) of the welding arc. If this is not possible, tightly cover them with approved covers. WARNING 4. Be alert that welding sparks and hot materials from welding can easily go through small cracks and openings to adjacent areas. FUMES AND GASES can be hazardous to your health. Welding produces fumes and gases.

Breathing these fumes and gases can be hazardous to your health. 5. Watch for fire, and keep a fire extinguisher nearby. 6. Page 10 TRANSMIG 200i 5. Use only correct shielding gas cylinders, regulators, hoses, and fittings designed for the specific application; maintain them and associated parts in good condition. 6. Turn face away from valve outlet when opening cylinder valve. 7. Keep protective cap in place over valve except when cylinder is in use or connected for use. 8. Read and follow instructions on compressed gas cylinders, associated equipment, and CGA publication P-1 listed in Safety Standards. Page 13 TRANSMIG 200i SECTION 2: INTRODUCTION 2.01 How To Use This Manual 2.02 Equipment Identification To ensure safe operation, read the entire manual, including the chapter on safety instructions and warnings. The unit’s identification number (specification or part number), model, and serial number usually appear on a nameplate attached to the control panel. In some cases, the nameplate may be attached to the rear panel. Page 14 TRANSMIG 200i 2.04 Symbol Chart Note that only some of these symbols will appear on your model. Page 16 TRANSMIG 200i 2.09 Duty Cycle The rated duty cycle of a Welding Power Source, is a statement of the time it may be operated at its rated welding current output without exceeding the temperature limits of the insulation of the component parts. To explain the 10 minute duty cycle period the following example is used. Page 21 TRANSMIG 200i 4. Equipotential Bonding Bonding of all metallic components in the welding installation and adjacent to it should be considered. However.

Metallic components bonded to the work piece will increase the risk that the operator could receive a shock by touching the metallic components and the electrode at the same time. At times of non-welding, the digital meter will display a pre-set (preview) value of Wirefeed Speed. This value can be adjusted by varying the Amperage Control Knob (4). Page 24 TRANSMIG 200i 6. Positive Welding Output Terminal The positive welding terminal is used to connect the welding output of the power source to the appropriate welding accessory such as the MIG torch (via the MIG torch polarity lead), electrode holder lead or work lead. Positive welding current flows from the power source via this heavy duty bayonet type terminal. It is essential, however, that the male plug is inserted and turned securely to achieve a sound electrical connection. Page 25 TRANSMIG 200i 9. Remote Control Socket The 8 pin Remote Control Socket is used to connect remote control devices to the welding power source. To make connections, align keyway, insert plug, and rotate threaded collar fully clockwise. Page 26 TRANSMIG 200i When MMAW (Stick) Mode is Selected In this mode the multifunction control knob is used to adjust arc force. Arc force control provides an adjustable amount of welding force (or “dig”) control. This feature can be particularly beneficial in providing the operator the ability to compensate for variability in joint fit-up in certain situations with particular electrodes. Page 27 TRANSMIG 200i 14. This value can be adjusted by varying the Multifunction Control Knob (10). Page 28 TRANSMIG 200i 17.

WARNING When the front digital displays are lit, the machine is connected to the Mains supply voltage and the internal electrical components are at Mains voltage potential. Page 29 TRANSMIG 200i 20. Burnback Control (located in wirefeed compartment) The burnback control is used to adjust the amount of MIG wire that protrudes from the MIG torch after the completion of MIG welding (commonly referred to as stick out). To decrease the burnback time (or lengthen the amount of wire protruding from the MIG torch at the completing of welding), turn the burnback control knob anti clockwise. Page 30 TRANSMIG 200i 3.08 Installing Spool (300mm diameter) As delivered from the factory, the unit is fitted with a Wire Spool Hub which accepts a Spool of 300mm diameter. Remove the locking pin from the spool hub. Install the wire spool over the spool hub, locating the hole in the spool, with the alignment pin on the spool hub. Insert the locking pin back into the spool hub. Then to release the pressure roller arm push the tension screw toward the front of the machine which releases the pressure roller arm (Figure 3-8). Page 32 TRANSMIG 200i 3.11 Feed Roller Pressure Adjustment The pressure (top) roller applies pressure to the grooved feed roller via an adjustable pressure screw. Page 33 TRANSMIG 200i 3.13 Wire Reel Brake The wire reel hub incorporates a friction brake which is adjusted during manufacture for optimum braking. If it is considered necessary, adjustment can be made by turning the Thumb Screw inside the open end of the hub clockwise to tighten the brake.

Correct adjustment will result in the wire reel circumference continuing no further than 10-20mm after release of the trigger. The electrode wire should be slack without becoming dislodged from wire spool. Page 34 TRANSMIG 200i 4. DO NOT use the regulator as a control valve. When downstream equipment is not in use for extended periods of time, shut off the gas at the cylinder valve and release the gas from the equipment. 5. OPEN the cylinder valve SLOWLY. Close after use. User Responsibilities This equipment will perform safely and reliable only when installed, operated and maintained, and repaired in accordance with the instructions provided. If opened quickly, a sudden pressure surge may damage internal regulator parts. 2. With valves on downstream equipment closed, adjust regulator to approximate working pressure. If in doubt, consult the electrode wire manufacturer. Welding current flows from the Power Source via heavy duty bayonet type terminals. cig transtig 150 manual

Can anybody point me in the right direction to get this fixed. I have opened it up and inspected the PCB and hardware and nothing seems to be burnt or pitted all connections seem to look good. I think there has been a couple of iterations from Cigweld since my unit was built but it was working OK from what I was told. Can anyone help me to get this unit fixed in Melbourne. I don't want to have to scrap it or get rid of it as it is pretty clean and is a good piece of Aussie engineering. One thing I have noticed is that one of the cables used for switching polarity on the front of the unit is scorched at the plug end, I can't imagine that this would be an issued however it is worth noting as it seems to be the only thing that remotely looks burnt.I would like to add a foot pedal control to aid my aluminium welding. Thanks John That is the slot, pin A and Pin B in a clockwise direction. Hope this helps PeterIt will strike an arc without pressing the pedal, when I switch it to Tig mode it makes a funny fluttering noise which I assume is the HF circuit. Will let you knowWhat if found was that the per and post flow timers and gas solenoid all work fine. The bad part is that it will strike an arc in tig mode when the torch button is pressed but the arc is so small and week that is doesn't even trip my auto shade helmet, the arc pulsates and looks similar to a spark plug when you are testing it out side of your lawn mower engine. It leaves a small burn mark on the surface of the metal like when you drag your stick welding rod quickly over a surface.Fans work when it's turned on, it won't strike an arc when stick mode is selected, gas solenoids work, it doesn't trip breakers when I turn it on, it doesn't make much difference to the arc struck in tig mode when I vary the current knob. I have opened it up and looked for any obvious signs of burnt or defective components but she is clean inside. Circuit boards look good as do the transformers.

Please go to Thank you - Neil (You can dismiss this I would like to add a foot pedal control to aid my aluminium welding. Can anyone confirm that this machine will allow the connection of a pedal. I could just rewire the existing front panel pot out to a pedal but the remote control socket on the welder has 7 pins and the standard tig torch only uses 2 so there would seem to be some additional controls already wired. If anyone has a manual or schematic for this welder I would really like to obtain a copy. Thanks JohnI would like to add a foot pedal control to aid my aluminium welding. Thanks John I will try find those notes and let you knowI will try find those notes and let you know By this I mean, what are you hoping to gain by adding a foot pedal. They aren't a magic bullet to solve all problems and in reality are really only useful when performing fixed bench work. Just something to consider.By this I mean, what are you hoping to gain by adding a foot pedal. Just something to consider. Seems like a pedal or control on the torch would make life easier. As most of my work will be at the workbench the pedal gets my vote for best solution. JohnI also have a scanned copy of the user manual, just trying to work out how to put it up on hereHope to see it soon. JohnI recently purchased a EMF 250 Transtig which is in great condition but its too big for me and won't fit in my workshop. Apparently this works just fine and hasn't seen too much work as it was a Tafe machine. So then I purchased a later model Transtig 150 single phase and the right size for what I am looking for BUT it does not want to work. When it is switched to Arc mode I can't strike an arc to weld MMA. When I switch it to TIG (I have no torch just yet as it came with the wrong one) it will strike an arc using the MMA leads and rod. It will strike an arc without pressing the pedal, when I switch it to Tig mode it makes a funny fluttering noise which I assume is the HF circuit.

Welding is an intense activity that offers you a smorgasbord of ways to hurt yourself. Pretty much every part of your body. Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding is also called Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, or GTAW. Which is much more fun to say because it sounds like you’re an old man from Texas talking about his guitar. With that pronunciation firmly implanted in your head, let’s look at why getting your GTAW on is preferable for aluminium.. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what trade you want to get into. There are so many options out there—how do you know which one might be a good fit for you. We’re going to answer a few questions about the welding industry and work out if it’s worth pursuing a career here in Australia. Is it an. AC DC Tig Welding or DC TIG welding is achieved by swapping the orange leads polarity by either allowing them to go straight through or criss cross each other. Duty cycle is calculated at % of time in a ten minute repeating period. 100% weld all day at that setting, 70% weld for 7 minutes at that setting then rest for 3 minutes, 40% weld for 4 minutes rest for 6 minutes etc.So at 120 Amps, the welder could run for 150 seconds, rest for 450 seconds then repeat. All I would use it for is light alloy fabrication,.I have to run single phase 15 amp as thats all i can get at my place.I know that if you pay the chinese realy money, they can make good quality stuff. Its just that people want to pay them nix and then resell for big profits. I also aware that you pay a lot for brands like cigweld, miller, thermadyne etc, but you pay for the quality and realibility for that. I know that most stuff comes from china now, but the bigger brands will pay them to make the right stuff. Since they are in Perth, the next time I go down ill go down see what they have to say. Any other comments? I've been reading about MIG for alloy.I believe that you can use your standard mig shield (arogn, co2) with a proper tig The chinese units that you see about.

NOT for MTS use. If you are interested in this pedal, please let us know. Our design, like that of most welding pedals made today, uses a 2-watt, high-resolution rotary potentiometer for the weld current control. We suggest buying the RFC-23A from your local Miller distributor. Do not confuse it with the RFCS-23, RFC-23AG, or RFC-23GD25A, all of which are different models and use 130W or 300W rheostats of different resistance values (see the Miller website for info about different models). You can sometimes find these used on eBay, but remember to research with the seller to make sure the pedal works for your welder. Miller also sells some welder parts you can find through internet searches (such as Miller rheostat part number 175264) if you need repair parts. Wattage is unknown. This is not the same plug that is used on the standard Miller 5-pin amptrol foot pedal (C810-0525). In the 1960s and 1970s, welding manufacturers used higher-wattage rheostats ranging from 25 to 300 watts, depending on the model, but they changed to the safer circuitry associated with the 2-watt potentiometer in the 1980s and have used this style since that time. The SSC Controls foot pedals use a 2-watt potentiometer and cannot fit the high-power rheostats, so we cannot make these models. We cannot make this model. This has a PC board inside the foot control that is installed in Europe. We cannot make this model. We cannot make this model. Uses large rheostat. We cannot make this model. We cannot make this model. We cannot make this type of control. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. Check out our 20th Anniversary Mugs, Classic Logo Shirts and much more. Discussion here. Any opinions? The cig that I mentioned has a digital control panel which makes it pretty clear to adjust, and exact. Not a big fan of some of the cheaper ebay ones after I read some threads of a dude opening one up.

Pretty worrying, but then again they are rebranded and sold under various brands. I mean look at this: People say that Eastwood is pretty good but obviously limited Adjustment. I think the cig is the way to goShould have at least 18 or 36 month warranty (it varies year to year). Eastwood welders are shit BTW, the best is Fronius which gives the smoothest arc but are really expensive. Your better off buying new, last thing you want do is spend money replacing a mainboard.I if pay 1000 for a welder, i want it to last like 10 years or something. If i get a 3 year warranty thats great, but if it fails then it fails and its going to fail again probably and be out of my pocket eventually. Also i realise that eastwood are crap, was just pointing out how large companies are rebranding such and such. The kemppi are made in europe i believe (finland or something?) and the cigweld generally have good history (as the other poster). The Unimigs are Jasic. Worst thing about the Kemppi is replacement part and accessory prices. Cigwelds are reasonable. Really dunno which way to go, but i definitely want AC. Cigweld seems fair bit better than the unimig, but again new vs old. 20% duty at 185 vs 200 of the cig. 100% at 90 vs 100 of the cig. Kemppi is better than that but of course its only DCHigh freq TIG is amazing. For me anyway, just seems like soldering. Don't look back.I would look at Fronius if you want something that lasts, I had one last for 18 years. I have a fabrication shop and all my machines get used constantly, I have used various brands and do know what I'm talking about, Esab is another good brand. They might be worth investigating.I found these: Heard some ok things from some brief research. Check out the duty, 60% at 200amps, wtf. Surely not. Better value than the unimig according to that info, but then again they are identical to this: Just keep going around in circles.

They list all the specs of the known brands, and some offer better specs, for significantly less. Some people, like above say, yeah fine. Some say, you get awsome units and some crap units.Crap, with no spare parts available and unrepairable. For me, i want to make sure that what ever i buy its the right tool. If that means you have to spend some real cash, then i just have to save up. Buying something at half the prie only to have to replace it sooner, is not cost effective. I have a friend who does that, and he burns cash like its going out of fashion, which I cant do, despite what people might think. Its got to be value for money, which is what we all want regardless of what you buy. Value is of course an unmeasureable, personal, qualatative process. What I mean by all this is When im looking at an item, i decide what i plan to do with it, my constraints, and then look at cost last. If I have to spend the cash to get what is the best option for me, then thats the way it will be, but if I can satisfy my needs with a cheaper model, then why put your hard erned cash into someone elses pocket. With that in mind, i havent heard of Fronius. When buying chinese, they are not all created equal, even though they all look very similar. Basically I think the old rule 'you get what you pay for' still applies. It is nice to use, but has broken down three times. And that's supposed to be a good one. Also Excel-arc, same welder. I don't use it everyday or anything but have given it a pretty hard work out on several occasions.(ie in a commercial setting, handpiece getting so hot you can't hang onto it even with good leather gloves) Yes it has broken down but including repairs it would still work out way cheaper than an equivalent Kemppi, Fronius, Miller, Lincoln or whatever. I would love to have a nice Kemppi don't get me wrong but on my budget at the time it was chinese or nothing, and I'm quite happy with it.

Mig welding alloy is ok, but it brings it's own issues which you don't get around without spending big money on the right machine either. To determine which control will work with your welder, check the number of pins on your welder's remote receptacle (and the shape of the connector) to make sure it matches one of the plugs below. You can also check to make sure the foot pedal's model number in your owner's manual matches a model number below. We can assist in finding the TIG welding foot pedal that you require. For Miller solid-state power sources AFTER serial number JK674521. All other PowCon see the C880-1425 below. For Miller solid-state power sources BEFORE serial number JK674521. If you have a different welder which wants the RFCS-23, please call before buying so that we can check your owner's manual to verify. Hobart (245589): EZ-TIG 165i. Miller Multimatic 215 (when properly equipped with TIG contractor kit). See picture comparison: click to view image. See picture of actual plug here: plug image. This will only work with receptacles that fit the pin layout shown. Firepower: 1442-0025. See below for those models. Note: This model is only for the welders listed (has extra switch in the pedal). For models with the 6-pin rectangular connector. Note: This is not the same as the 2-plug version of the FC-4 (listed below). Check the plug configuration of your welder. Also works on Panasonic Multi 260 welders if they have the 10-pin receptacle shown. Uses pins D, E, F, G, and H. See picture of 12-pin plug here. Replaces models 409004A-2 and THL 200460-007. Only pins A, B, K, J, and H are connected. Be sure part number and plug are correct. The receptacle on your machine must exactly match the plug as shown. See image of plug here (receptacle on machine will have reverse lettering). Includes 25-foot cable and 14-pin plug, 100,000-ohm potentiometer, switch. It must match the picture shown to the left for this foot pedal to work with the welder. NOT for MTS use.

Theyre around 800 on ebay. The unimig ones look pretty good because of the amount of support they seem to have (not based out of a single shop). It seems to work fairly well for the price, but their support was absolutely shocking. I had a part break after about 6 months (less than 30 minutes actual run time) and they did their damnedest to avoid repairing it under warranty. It took a heap of phone calls, emails and visits just to get them to give me a replacement. Once I got the old part off, it was clear there was a manufacturing defect and it was never going to last long. Since putting in the new part it's all going well but I dread having to deal with them again. It seems to work fairly well for the price, but their support was absolutely shocking. I wouldn't pay the prices you have in th OP for 2nd hand stuff, as you can get brand new for those prices.

Just need to shop around and wait for specials(Country Field Days are brilliant for this, always go on the last day). Yes, they are expensive but it's worth it in build quality. They have the smoothest arc I've ever used. I'm a Boilermaker by trade and have been the Manager of a Maintenance department in Iron Ore for 4 years. I've seen all makes and models come through and seen what lasts, what doesn't and what is just plain crap. Best bang for your buck, is the CIG line up of Caddy welders. We have used them for years, gone to other brands and models and always ended up back with them. Great duty cycle and good on warranty work. I'd steer clear of Kemppi's as per personnel experience. They just don't last, they hate dust and shit the tin very easily. Though take into fact we work in a very dusty enviroment and my guys are harsh on gear. Honestly my first priority would be Esseti and then a CIG machine. My father's business has used CIG Migs and Diesel Welders for years with no dramas and he looks after his gear unlike my workers, whomo trash everything. My 2 cents anyway, if it helps at all.

I am looking for a brand name MIG, single phase about the 200 amp range, mainly for doing light fabrication and repair work. I am upgrading from a BOC 150c, which is a bit too light. I also looked at Magmate and BOC,( which are apparently are made by Kempi)., but the Cigweld seem to offer best value per amp. This Cigweld model also seems to have been around for a while. Here is a link to Just Tools in Melb, that stock it. Not the cheapest mob in town, but reasonable service I think the new models are made in malaysia, but hear mostly good things about them. My father has a Transmig 190 used in his business for nearly 20 years without drama.

The only other comment is that if you check the fine print the 200 model is classed light duty, where-as if you step up a model to the 220 it is classed industrial and likely to be a bit more HD. You might be able to talk them into a 220 at the same price. Note also you won't be able to get full output from a 250 unless you wire to a 25amp outlet. Recommend you go for Eurofit torch. CIG normally sell Tweco which I find a bit more robust than the Binzels. The other thing about CIGweld is the support and backup is good in my experience. Hope that helps. SteveThe Melb ones will be in the yellow pages. You can get good deals if you ask for trade, and will offer better advice on machines, torches, consumables etc. Most of them are part of buying groups that also advertise specials regularly (eg Bywise etc). Steve How about using it with an extension lead.Pretty sure this is the same model as one of my mates and it is a good machine, can say that he prefers to use this one rather than the 3 phase 225.He is using his in a engineering shop and it gets constant use, probably around 20hrs or more a week and it's still running well.Feedback Buttons provided by.
